Mode Suisse 2022 - Highlights from the Show

Hi Everyone,

Mode Suisse is the one bi-annual event that brings together everyone in the Swiss Fashion Industry. It is a great door opener for local designers especially as the event is also staged in Geneva, Paris and New York.

Each season Swiss boutique owners, design students, fashion photographers, influencers, local celebrities etc. gather together to support the local fashion industry. Seeing old faces once again certainly helped the 3/4 of an hour wait to get into the door this year.

There is always more to the runway collections than meets the eye. This year there was a huge focus on the environment but also an increased emphasis on showing collections which are truly wearable.

Mode Suisse 2022 – Highlights from the Show

There were two shows that evening. This post covers highlights from the first show with a small insight into each of the designers.

2. Nomad Issem

Nomad Issem  – from the outside it may look like a very conservative collection but the message is greater – “high flyers need hero pieces”.

I love the classic clean lines – a beautifully made collection of timeless pieces.

3. Adeline Rappaz

Adeline Rappaz is both a designer and make up artist. She is one of two finalists from the fashion/design school HEAD Genève.

This collection has fantastic details such as the opulent head gear and sparkles throughout. Using up cycled fabric leftovers and natural plant based dye. One could say the collection was a mixture of punk and the 1920’s thrown together into one pot.

4. Sophie Fellay

Sophie Fellay is also a finalist from the fashion/design school HEAD Genève. Showcasing a pretty carefree Summer collection here.

6. Im Irene Muenger

Irene Muenger’s  collection clearly showed her passion for carpets, home textiles and art in general. Truly creative designs with a touch of zing.

7. Amorphose

Amorphose was founded by Giancarlo Bello in 2007 and is located in Lugano, Switzerland. Each year you will see some sort of special head feature in his collections.

I loved the futuristic touch with cold air blowing out of tubes in the outfit below.

8. Bongenie & Larma Studio

A collaboration between Bongenie and LARMA – an independent fashion accessories brand founded in 2021 in Geneva by the designers Ania Marincek and Julia La Mendola. LARMA create high quality and colorful products made of deadstock and recycled materials.

All outfits and the glasses can be found in store and online at Bongenie

9. Sarah Bounab

Sarah Bounab is a previous graduate from Head Genève, now debuting her own collection. The certainly interesting collection was inspired by pictures of Bianca Jagger in the legendary New York nightclub Studio 54.
