7 Secret London Shopping Tips

With globalisation and the appearance of main high street stores in all major cities it sometimes ends up being more difficult to do that special shopping whilst visiting a new city.

Hence I have decided to share the following with you -my favourite shopping tips in London.

Mayfair – Dover Street:

1.Β McQ Flagship store.

The people working in the shop were absolutely adorable – take time to have a chat with them and let them tell you all about the concepts behind the individual fabric and clothing designs. Not cheap but I think you get value for money as the items are really special.

2.Β Dover Street Market

One of London’s hippest places to shop. Not a typical market more an experienceΒ where various creators from various fields gather together and encounter each other in an ongoing atmosphere of beautiful chaos. Six floors of amazing original design – enough to truly get the imagination going – smile. Definitely not cheap!

3.Β Victoria Beckhams Shop

This is definitely worth a look inside as the architecture is wonderful – prices are unfort over my budget.

4. Before leaving Mayfair be sure to walk through the Burlington arcade and have a look at the fabulous antique jewellery stores.

Piccadilly – Regent Street:

5.Β Karl Lagerfeld

Love the bags and sneakers!

6.Β Burberry

Even if we do have a Burberry store in the centre of Zurich nothing quite beats this one, especially for their vast collection inside and the funky way they display their collections. The design of the shop in itself is awesome and definitely worth it even if just to do some window shopping and aspiration gathering for how you could combine things you already own or make small amendments to them – i.e. see feature on denim jacket below ;-).

7.Β & Other Stories

Finally the cutest store where you can truly find amazing bargains. I had never heard of them before my last visit to London but they do actually belong to the H&M group – can’t wait for this shop to reach Zurich!

Sundry tips:

Best Top Shop store is in Knightsbridge

Oxford Street – over rated, over crowded and the shops aren’t nearly as nice as in other parts of London.

Finally for those of you who can’t make it to London right now here are some great links where you can order what you like and have it delivered to you:
