Hi Everyone,

So excited to be sitting here in Zingg Lamprecht, Zurich’s best and most iconic interior design store, with CEO/Owner Stan Novakovic.

Zingg Lamprecht was founded in 1902 as  a carpenter’s workshop by Max Lamprecht in the Seefeld district of Zurich. Later moving to cultivating successful trade relations with Scandinavian furniture designers.  A favourite story is when a new piece of design furniture was delivered to the store in the 1930’s. People queued for several blocks in order to catch a glimpse. Times have certainly changed with the digital world and Zingg Lamprecht is looking forward to their super new website coming mid January. I’ll make sure to announce this properly to you so stay tuned. Currently I can really recommend a visit to the Zurich store for some Christmas inspiration. Imagine next year Zingg Lamprecht will be celebrating their 120th Birthday. What a mile stone. The perfect time to be interviewing Stan Novakovic, owner since 2014. I had to find out what it is that makes Zingg Lamprecht so special, iconic moments for the company and a little insight regarding what the future holds.

Interview with Stan Novakovic – Making the World a Better Place with Zingg Lamprecht

1. What makes Zingg Lamprecht so special?

Stan: It’s about the exquisite design taste and products. Zingg Lamprecht provides the best brands in the World. A mixture of classic brands with emerging brands that enable us to create the most beautiful rooms for our clients.

Our service is all about a co-creation tailored to the needs of the individual client. We always analyse a clients lifestyle and taste, using these as the keystones to creating a perfect interior world for them.

2. Why did you buy Zingg Lamprecht in 2014?

Stan: It starts with my love of beautiful things, be it art, cars, hotels, interiors, the list goes on. Zingg Lamprecht is such a beautiful brand and when the opportunity arose I simply had to have it – smile!

3. Why the change from a Management operation to owner operation – you now being CEO and owner of Zingg Lamprecht?

Stan: The answer is quite simply one word, “Passion”. I am so in love with the interior design business and how it evolves over time. One day I simply realised it was time to take over the operation myself to realise the fruition of my true passion.

4. What is the biggest aim for Zingg Lamprecht in the coming year, 2022?

Stan: To be honest this is a family run business so we tend to think long term and not year to year. Certainly one of our current aims is to grow with the times and make our showrooms even more beautiful. We aim to turn these into the type of space people simply want to visit to get inspired. To sit down, have a coffee and reflect what they could change in their own homes to make them even more beautiful. Funny enough we already have overseas clients who pop into the Zingg Lamprecht showroom each visit to Zurich. Sometimes they buy, sometimes they simply seek inspiration. We love these visits and cherish continual contact with our current and potential clients immensely.

We are also so excited about our new Art Director this year; Analia Lazzari. She is like a fairy godmother when it comes to creating beautiful interiors. I can’t wait to see what she creates in our showrooms going forward. Rumour has it there will be fabulous cakes in January so save some appetite after Christmas to pop by and take a look yourself – smile!

5. Which is your favourite piece in the store?

Stan: Honestly, right now it would have to be the Christmas tree. Christmas is such a wonderful family time and seeing that tree in my showroom simply makes me happy.

I am obviously not the only one as we have already had several clients order the tree as is for their own homes!

Me: Yes please, I would like it too!

6. What about Zingg Lamprecht and sustainability? Is this important to you?

Stan: Absolutely, this is such a great question. Firstly we make sure all our suppliers comply with the relevant sourcing/production regulations. In addition each week we have team meetings where members of the team inform the rest of us about suppliers and what they are doing in the area of sustainability.

It is such an interesting topic and the market is certainly making steps to becoming more and more sustainable over time.

7. Which is your personal favourite room?

Stan: without a doubt the living room. This is where everyone gets together to socialise, play games and catch up from our busy lives.
