The One

The One. A million things pop into your head when you read these two words. The love of life, probably. But when it comes to fashion, we all have THE one. THE cozy stylish sweater you wear on and on, THE silk scarf that makes any outfit better, THE pair of shoes that make your day brighter. As most you know, THE accessory for me is a bag. Bags are my weakness and my bags are probably THE accessory that I keep impeccable storage. Each of them brings me such joy and reminds me of all the times I snapped at someone who dared to put my bag on the floor. You see, I take that “table for 3: you, me and my bag” very seriously.

When Farfetch contacted me and told me about their newest magazine, The Style Guide, I immediately started going through the amazing editorial content and, inspired by this article, I bring you my favorite bags of the season and will reveal to you my #THEONE. The choice wasn´t hard, it was love at first sight. Can you guess it? Hint: She hides between the beautiful European architecture 🙂

How about you? Did you pick your The One for this summer? Make sure you check Farfetch’s digital magazine. It’s a must see either you’re looking for the latest trends or just deciding what to wear. As always, I’m looking forward to knowing your opinion so meet me in the comment section! 🙂

Aquazzura X Farfetch

It´s no secret that above clothes, accessories and shoes will always be my favorite pieces in any outfit. Why? Ever tried on a simple white tee and jeans outfit with statement heels? So you must know the feeling 😉 That´s why I was thrilled when Farfetch contacted me and told me about their new collaboration with Aquazzura: a new capsule collection brought together by 4 super talented and influential women with Edgardo Osorio.

The Very Deena

As soon as I saw leopard and zebra heels I knew exactly what to do: mix and match prints and add a strong pop of color. Easy. I went for blue because it´s one of my favorite colors to pair with animal print and monochrome shirt and skirt that contrast in terms of style with the biker jacket. The contrast between the skirt and the heels are my favorite part of this outfit.

The Very Pascaline

The fringed boots are my favorite pair from this capsule collection. They´re so versatile that it was hard for me to only create one look. I went for a cozy oversized knit sweater to play with the different textures. Lately one of the biggest street style trends that conquered my heart is wearing heels and boots with socks and actually show them so I decided to try that trend with the fringed boots and loved the result.

The Very Claire

The first time I saw the golden platforms I thought about the amazing Studio 54 days and Bianca Jagger in a suit. But since I love mixing pieces from contrasting styles, I decided to pair them with a simple graphic tee and – of course – a coat with stripes. One of my favorite colors to mix with golden is green. It instantly adds a touch of sophistication. In this case, I think the tee adds the right ammount of irreverence and the coat gives the sophisticated touch. To finish, I choose a golden Saint Laurent bag because I always try to match my accessories with my shoes to make the outfit more interesting.

The Very Holli

Do you ever decide what to wear based on your shoes? Cause that´s what happened here. As soon as I saw the different shades of blue I knew I had to have more shades of that same color and a good pop of yellow. The frayed jeans are always a good option when you want to make your heels stand out – I usually do that when I´m wearing a basic top or a simple tee. Once again, the color scheme was created from the accessories and shoes.

LFW Street Style Part II

Part II or how to master the print mixing game. And wear fringes. And what about a total white outfit with pops of red? Have you noticed how elegant a woman in red is? So many questions pop my mind when I look at street style pictures. Am I the only one who barely thinks about trends when scrolling through them? Of course we can always spot trends (and this time I tried as you can see) but I’m always more focused on the person. Street style taught me so much when it comes to finding my own style and identity. A person comfortably trending will always be prettier. Not because she’s trending, no. Because it’s someone who feels comfortable in its second skin – clothes.

LFW Street Style Part I

We patiently wait to see the newest trends and inspirations for each new season. It´s not only the clothes or accessories that are about to be revealed. It´s the environment, the light, the artistic process behind every show. But when it comes to street style everything changes. Trendsetter or not, everyone will be showing their personality through what they´re wearing. Multiple inspirations, mixed trends, things that only the person who´s wearing it considers trendy. That´s the beauty of what happens outside a show. And that´s why I consider street style such a strong source of inspiration. Are they waiting to be photographed? Of course. Does it make street style less authentic? Absolutely not. What about you? Do you also think the “magic” begins outside the shows?

Fall/Winter 16/17 Shoes

Like I told you on the first trend report, this Fall collections have too much information. Maximalism strikes again and you can spot its trace elements both on the clothes and accessories. I´ll be showing you what I believe to be the essential shoes for this season on this trend report and the next one will have all the accessories. Please note that it´s not my fault. Personally, I blame creative directors. The creative process of every important fashion house was just remarkable this Fall/Winter. I, of course, was a victim.

Loafers

It was Fall 2015 and Alessandro Michele had a perfect vision for Gucci. The loafers emerged and they´re not going anywhere anytime soon. If there´s any versatile shoe for this Fall, it´s the loafer. So, have you picked yours?

Flat Slides

You´ve already seen them during summer and even last Fall. I must say I have mixed feelings when it comes to flat slides because I don´t find them that comfortable or practical. But i´ll tell you if this relationship makes any progresses. A piece of advice: don´t run while wearing them.

Mid-heel Shoes

Also known as “Granny Shoes” and definitely a very possible acquisition for this season. I find them very comfortable and super stylish, perfect to wear with frilled jeans and a cozy oversized knit (you know, for those days when you don´t want to put much thought on what you´re going to wear).

Ballerina Shoes

I didn´t love ballet very much when I practiced it but I did like my ballerina shoes very much and used to wear them around the house. You can transport yourself back to your childhood days with a classier version of ballerinas or an edgier one. Blame it on Miu Miu. As for my Bimba y Lola edgy ballet shoes, I find them perfect to wear with culottes.

Mary-Janes

The classic. Is there anything more feminine than a good pair of Mary-Jane´s? Again, a good reminder of your childhood days. And because velvet is one of the main Fall fabrics, if you want a win-win situation, find yourself a pair of these in velvet. If you´re able to find something that goes terribly wrong with Mary-Janes, please let me know. I haven´t so far. P.s. a tracksuit doesn´t count. We´ll talk about athleisure later.

Ankle Boots

I know, I know. But history tends to repeat itself. So ankle boots are a thing, again. But this time the ankle boot trend comes bolder. You can choose from a huge variety of prints and play mix&match with your outfits now more than ever. If you´re not much of a bold prints kind of person, you still have lots of options: pvc, suede, velvet… everything with only one color or a little statement on the heel. Can you guess which one I daydream about? 😉

As always, I’d love to know what you think. Which are your favorites? See you in the comment section and stay tuned for the next trend report 🙂

Essential Summer Trends to Pack

Trouble packing – who doesn’t have it? I certainly do…I know I need to pack light but the fear of forgetting something tempts me every time I look at my suitcase. This post is your (and mine!) ultimate guide to pack summer essentials (and by that I mean the latest summer trends) and combine them. The main goal? Being able to close the suitcase without sitting on top of it. So grab a post-it and take as many notes as you need cause I’ve prepared a selection of very ‘instagramable’ pieces.

Bikini & Swimsuit

Two very easy things to pack that will allow you to create some very stylish outfits. The swimsuit can easily be transformed into a body that you can wear with shorts, jeans, flare pants or maxi skirts. Your creativity is your limit. I own several swimsuits (i´m guilty of finding them very flattering and elegant pieces, much more than bikinis) and frequently wear them out.

As for the bikinis, this season (just like last year) it´s difficult to understand the difference between some bikini tops and a crop top. Maybe it´s the universe telling you to wear your bikini top with high waist pants and spare a little extra room in your suitcase.

1) Moschino; 2) Blue Man; 3) Missoni

Hats

Just a quick question… How do you pack your hats?

Crochet and Lace

I´m a big fan of anything crochet (except for ugly granny-style cloths) and lace so some of my favorite cover ups are beautiful see-through pieces that you´ll want to wear both on the beach and to go out on warm summer nights or even during daytime. It will all depend on how you style them. I usually go for jeans and denim shorts and add some cool wedges instead of flats.

Meet my Pull&Bear crochet swimsuit that I often use as a body. Paired it with high jeans from Mango, a Fossil watch and Raybans.

Sets, Light Dresses & Jumpsuits

Matchy-matchy is a thing. And what better way to do it than wear a two-piece? If you feel like wearing it together, do it. If you don´t, congratulations! You just won two more different outfits 😉

A wise man once said “a jumpsuit a day makes you forget that you´re having a bad hair day”. Ok, it wasn´t a wise man. It was me. But it has been my motto when it comes to bad hair days. Just tie your hair in a cute up-do or a high pony-tail and the attentions will all go straight to the jumpsuit.

Light dresses, silk dresses, slip dresses, everything that you usually take to the beach with flip-flops but can also wear daily with gladiator sandals or at night with heels. Again, the power of good accessories will amaze you and help you transform your outfits throughout the day.

Off-Shoulders

The biggest and most-seen-on-social-media trend (check this post for some cool ideas to wear off-shoulders) is also the most versatile. The trick, once again, it´s to master your accessory game. I´ve made a small chart to give you some ideas to improve any off-shoulders look and take it to another level (those levels being the beach, a casual night out, a daily outfit, or an occasion that requires shiny jewelry).

Espadrilles

Flats and wedges. Pack them both. Why? See all the other trends above.

Fashion X Tech / Moda X Tecnologia

The Fashion Industry evolves very quickly. Trendsetters started to appear from all around the globe using social media and their voice became more powerful than anyone would ever thought. Creative directors had to adjust to the digital era and evolve as well. Big fashion magazines too, when digital magazines and blogs began to take over. Today, Fashion cannot live without technology and I must say that they’re definitely one of the best combinations ever. As a blogger, technology is what allows me to share my opinions and keep up with the latest trends so it’s of course a big issue for me. That’s why I decided to creat the Fashion sub-category – Tech. As you can already guess (and because it’s a sub-category) it will be fashion related only. I will share with you the latest and the best Apps, digital magazines, fashionable accessories for your technology and everything fashion related.
For the first post, I’ll give you what I believe to be the best apps to do your online shopping, when searching for designer clothing, accessories or jewelry. I choose them based on my personal experience, prices and diversity of items. I don’t do most of my shopping online – yet (ASOS is slowly becoming one of my favorite places to shop). When it comes to great sales and vintage hunting, I prefer online shopping, for sure. Why? Well, I don’t know many places that sell designer clothes and accessories at such affordable prices like I do online. I find online shopping specially useful for vintage hunting because you can easily select categories, prices and the most important – quality. That brings me to one of my favorite fashion apps – Vestiaire. Vestiaire it’s an app recommended by magazines like Vogue and Elle, that allows you to sell your colthes, accessories, jewels and buy what other people are selling. It’s one of my favorites because it has the most amazing vintage pieces. I must confess… I can spend hours going through those bags and accessories. One great aspect about this app is that you can easily find the latest collections at a lower price and when you buy something the item doesn’t come to you right away because of quality control and the authenticity of your buy – both checked by Vestiaire. Probably one not-so-good thing about it is that, because people are selling their own pieces, you’ll have to make sure you know the value of what you’re buying. My suggestion would be to search for the specific item you want, filter by quality and price range and then see what suits you the most between the several items that will appear to you.

Another great app is The Outnet. If you’re familiar with Net-A- Porter, you might have heard of The Outnet. It’s basically Net- a-porter’s outlet so you can always search for designer clothes at lower prices during anytime of the Year. I recommend the accessories and bags selection, definitely worth your time. After all, outlets are the perfect places to find the coolest bargains.

Outra óptima aplicação é The Outnet. Para quem conhece o Net-a-Porter, o The Outnet é o Outlet. Recomendo a parte dos acessórios e malas. Afinal, um Outlet é sempre um Outlet 😉

Last but definitely not least, the Farfetch app. You have heard here before of Farfetch since I teamed up with them to show you some of the best Spring/Summer 16 trends. Farfetch reunites 400 boutiques in one place, bringing you the latest fashion to your devices. What you don’t know yet, is that I recently discovered Farfetch’s sales (worth taking a look if you’re searching for designer pieces at reasonable prices). Personally I got my eyes on a beautiful Kenzo bag 😉

SS16 Trends

Spring/Summer 2016. The moment I saw the collections I knew it would be my favorite season. When I saw the proposals for SS16 I immediately knew it was the birth of the tree B´s – the Bold, the Bright, the Beautiful.  And if flowers for Spring sounds a cliché you should try flowers with butterflies and bees. Oh, and let´s not forget about adding some stripes. It seems that all the greatest designers were willing to leave the minimalism behind and encourage the rise of a simple new rule – there are no rules in fashion.

If you thought “less is more” (but down deep you knew you wanted to look like a walking Pollock painting) this is your season. Statement pieces together look even more beautiful than apart. Details are everywhere. There is no color palette because every color is admissible. There is no specific shape because every shape is the perfect one.

In the end, your creativity will always help you to find your perfect outfit.

SS16 is giving us some of the best trends in a long time with one peculiarity. There are so many trends to explore that every single person will be able to identify themselves with some of those (if not almost all). That was the main reason why I was delighted to be part of the Farfetch competition and style some of the best trends from SS16 and hopefully give you some inspiration to create your own Spring/Summer outfits.

Farfetch is the address for 400 fashion boutiques from all around the world. 400 visionary fashion boutiques with the most inspirational pieces. Whenever I´m looking for inspiration, both their site and instagram account are 2 of my first sources.

Graphic patterns and stripes in general are definitely pieces that i´ll always buy. Playing with those prints it´s a thing you´ll probably find yourself doing a lot this season. Just combine the colors of the different patterns and wear what´s more visually appealing to you. If you think that specific polka dots shirt looks really good with a striped skirt, go for it.

When choosing the pieces to style this trend I knew I had to use the black top (from the first look) because it reminded me of an abstract painting. And what better to pair with it than those striped shorts? And because I didn´t think it was enough, I added textured espadrilles with a bit of pattern. The backpack it´s another great option for Spring Summer and you probably have seen a lot of those on street style snaps.

The second look includes an off-shoulder graphic dress (stripes again, I know… couldn´t resist) paired with golden earrings. Whenever I use off-shoulders shirts or dresses I opt for statement earrings and mostly no necklaces or a simple choker.  Lace up shoes seemed to me the best ones to pair with this dress and because pom poms are the perfect pop of color, I added the hat and the phone case.

To give the cold shoulder – intentionally cold. Ignoring someone completely.

Or it could be a SS16 trend that consists in showing your neckline and shoulders or just a bit of your shoulders – either way it will look amazing on you. The versatility of off-shoulder pieces (from dresses to all kind of shirts and tops) amazes me. There are so many perfect looks you can create using this trend. To show you this versatility I created two looks, one with jeans and the other with a dress. Because there´s nothing more elegant than showing your neckline and shoulders I accessorized both with different choker necklaces (a great 90´s revival). Simple but effective and you´re still elegant. I´ve been seeing a lot of off-shoulder shirts like the one from the second look and I always knew it would look very 70´s paired with flared jeans and platform shoes. There´s graphic Missoni pattern on the espadrilles to give both a bit of pattern and color to the outfit.

If you´d ask me what would be an “essential” for SS16 I would point the dress from the first look – the cold shoulder floral dress. Two trends in one dress. It´s what happens when bohemian meets chic. I wanted to give it an edgy touch, so I added a fringed bag and wedges.

For this trend I thought about light colors, beautiful maxi dresses and lace. One of best things about SS16 is that you´ll be seeing a lot of different silhouettes specially when it comes to dresses. Ruffles, lace culottes and denim on the shoes was my first way of interpreting this trend. The different shades of blue are a great example on how you can wear the same color and play with its variants. The trick is mixing lace with ruffles, it rarely fails when you have different textures.

Because I used a floral dress before – which was one of the first pieces I thought about when styling this trend – I choose a lace up dress with ruffles and (again) added the touch of edginess with boots and pattern.

I bet there was at least one day in your life when one of your first thoughts was “I wish I could just go outside in my pajamas”. Well, I had those thoughts. Now it´s a trend and the only contra is that you no longer have that “i´m already in my pajamas” excuse. They come in every pattern and shape just to give you that effortlessly chic look. When styling this trend I immediately knew I wanted a bold approach and not just a subtle silk PJ top with denim. Head-to-toe pyjamas was the coolest trend to style specially after seeing the selection of PJ´s Farfetch has and the wide range of patterns available.

The first look it´s edgier on purpose. I wanted to show you how versatile pyjama´s parts are.

I opted for stilettos on the second look because of the culottes. I couldn’t think of anything more stylish to wear with Pj culottes than those Alexander Wang shoes. Because it was a black and white combo, there´s a touch of gold and a bit of pattern on the bag.
