MLX – Legacy – it’s Lisbon fashion week time!

Most of you probably don’t know (I wouldn’t know if I didn’t live here) , but Lisbon has hosted a fashion week and Portuguese designers are presenting their proposals to spring/summer 2015. This year has been marked with our traditions related to the sea, giving a bit of our history. The predominant colors are – like everyone expected – pastels and white. Nevertheless, I was very pleased to see that grays are a constant on the runways since it is such a sophisticated color, and lately I’ve been wearing it even more than I use to. About the trends… We’ve seen transparencies; military; detailed one colored pieces; sporting. When it comes to accessorize, I believe they nailed it – geometric clutches; backpacks have come definitely to stay; metallics (a trend I’ll tell you a bit more in another post); the combination of comfort needed in your working schedule with sophistication and lots of coolness.

Paris Fashion Week – the designers

I’m definitely in love with Paris fashion week and everything related. The Balmain spring summer 2015 ready to wear collection. It has the perfect pallet, reminded me constantly of Piet Mondrian (one of my favorite inspirations) and the Yves Saint Laurent day dress, back in 1965′ fall.
Being a person who is crazy about every combination that evolves black, this collection was a delightful surprise. Once again, the A line skirts and dresses and the wide high waisted trousers are a constant.

Carven, another favorite. Once again, I find myself amazed with the colors! The snake padron is something that goes very well with sober colors and planarity gives the look the needed simplicity.

Lanvin never disappoints. Going through the collection reminded me of special creations, capable of making any woman feel powerful. Lanvin always shows us that kind of pieces. The baroque trend shows up here, once again – just never though it would appear with Lanvin.

Paris Fashion Week – the first designers

Paris is always Paris. And Paris fashion week will always be my favorite. The first collection I want to show you is Balenciaga Spring Summer 2015 Ready to Wear. It reminded me of how I like both pastel colors and a good total black outfit with some transparencies.

The second collection that got my attention was Guy Laroche, Spring Summer 2015 Ready to Wear. It is a versatile collection, with the best of what we’ll have 2015′ Spring Summer – the overalls (I really intend to leave them when I reach my 30s, though I have the secret wish that they begin to look more and more sophisticated and wearable at work); the A-line dresses with that 60’s touch -yet modernized; high waisted shorts and skirts; light dresses with boho chic padrons.

The third favorite was Sonia Rykiel Spring Summer 2015, Ready to Wear. It is all about mixing the sporting look with some chic details or just keep it cool and casual. One thing I like about this sporting trend is the way you can mix comfort with chic, look great and actually feel comfortable. Who knew that pairing a mini skirt with a large sweater and heels would look that good?
