Part II or how to master the print mixing game. And wear fringes. And what about a total white outfit with pops of red? Have you noticed how elegant a woman in red is? So many questions pop my mind when I look at street style pictures. Am I the only one who barely thinks about trends when scrolling through them? Of course we can always spot trends (and this time I tried as you can see) but I’m always more focused on the person. Street style taught me so much when it comes to finding my own style and identity. A person comfortably trending will always be prettier. Not because she’s trending, no. Because it’s someone who feels comfortable in its second skin – clothes.
We patiently wait to see the newest trends and inspirations for each new season. It´s not only the clothes or accessories that are about to be revealed. It´s the environment, the light, the artistic process behind every show. But when it comes to street style everything changes. Trendsetter or not, everyone will be showing their personality through what they´re wearing. Multiple inspirations, mixed trends, things that only the person who´s wearing it considers trendy. That´s the beauty of what happens outside a show. And that´s why I consider street style such a strong source of inspiration. Are they waiting to be photographed? Of course. Does it make street style less authentic? Absolutely not. What about you? Do you also think the “magic” begins outside the shows?
Next seasons will be all about making bold statements and expressing personality. Isn’t that what’s great about fashion? Just being able to express yourself through what you wear? And that’s why you whatch your back – and why everyone should do the same – because you wouldn’t want to miss the real life art show passing in front of your eyes. A piece of advice: if you know someone who’s good at it, or if you know how to do it, go ahead and personalize your own denim or leather jackets (and keep in mind that denim should be easier if you are not an expert). Everything counts! So grab inspiration from your favorite paintings, music, pieces of art, quotes, favorite cartoons (and, if I did it right, from this post) and start your own creative process. 🙂

The first thing I searched for while winter shopping was my very own pastel coat. I’ve spotted those colors on J.Crew and was delighted to hear that they were no longer synonym of spring. And since I already knew what color to chose, a mint coat lies now on my wardrobe.
Choosing the perfect pastel / Escolher a cor pastel perfeita
Think about all those perfect pastel colors – the blue pastel, the rose, the orange, the coral, the lavender.. Find the color that best suits you.
Pensem naquela palette de cores pastel perfeita – os azuis, rosas, laranjas, coral, lavanda… E escolham a cor que mais vos agrada e que vai mais de encontro ao vosso estilo.
Accessories: berets (something i´ve been patiently waiting to wear again) and beanies (and with lots of embroidery); hats; scarves (every type of them); headbands ( another one i´ve been dying to wear..)
Jewels: Go big or go home – oversized earrings and necklaces. Every piece on your jewelry box must make a statement.
Finally finals are over and my beloved vacations began – just like my blog posts! I collected a few images of the things that inspired my next posts. Let you guys with the results and hope you find them just as inspiring as I did!
For the last inspirational post – the Jumpsuit. One of my favorite pieces from the last few years and my favorite option when it comes to parties and events with certain dress codes (along with feminine suits, of course).
I find it a very versatile piece – you can pair it with almost everything and you´ll look great!
When talking about pros and cons of wearing one of this seasons biggest trend – the oversized coat – there’s always one con in particular that crosses my mind: loss of shape.
So when I first saw not the typical matching belt on an oversized coat but, instead, an actual belt I knew I had to take a look and try this trend.
Why I love it? It creates the perfect feminine figure either you add a belt on an oversized coat or a normal A line coat.
So if you want to be a bit more audacious and try on a separate coat and belt combo (like I do!) you have plenty of options and a few tips to keep in mind: the size of your belt does matter (you surely don’t want to end up ruining the amazing shape this trend can give you by choosing the wrong belt for your coat); the color and the material is also important (you may want to choose a contrasting color – like a burgundy belt for a grey coat – or a fantastic printed belt with a white coat. You can even try the metallic trend I told you about on a previous post by wearing a silver or golden belt with a black or dark blue coat).
Another interesting thing about this belt trend is how you can wear it with a blanket scarf or a cape. Since I elected winter oversized scarves my favorite accessory last fall/winter, I’m definitely going to apply this trend to it!
